Terms of Service

These Terms are provided for transparency and general information. They are not a substitute for legal advice. We recommend having a lawyer review them before launching commercially.

These Terms govern your use of AEO (the "Service", the "Platform"). By creating an account or running a scan, you agree to them. If anything needs clarifying, email hello@aeo.app.

Who we are

AEO is an Answer Engine Optimization platform for service professionals. We run AI visibility scans, generate reports, and produce recommendations for your website. The Service is operated by AEO (the "Company").

Your account

  • You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
  • You're responsible for keeping your password secure. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • One account per individual or business entity. Don't share credentials with people outside your organization.

Acceptable use

Don't do any of the following with the Service:

  • Scan domains you don't own or aren't authorized to scan.
  • Abuse the scan endpoint with automated traffic, scripts, or denial- of-service patterns.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or republish Platform output without permission.
  • Use the Service to target a specific individual, harass, or infringe on intellectual property.
  • Resell the Service without an Agency-tier agreement.

Payment & billing

  • Paid plans are billed monthly, in advance, via Stripe. All prices are in USD.
  • You can cancel any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future billing; you keep access through the end of the paid period.
  • Refund policy — two layers. We offer two refund layers. (1) 7-day window: any new subscription can be fully refunded for any reason within 7 days of purchase. (2) 60-day results guarantee: if you subscribe to a paid plan and your AI Visibility Score does not measurably improve within 60 days versus your baseline scan, we will refund your first 60 days of subscription upon email request to support@aeo.app. These policies coexist — you may use either, whichever applies to your situation.
  • Failed payments: we'll retry; if retries fail for more than 7 days, your account moves to read-only.

Service availability

We operate the Service on a best-effort basis. Scans depend on third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) which we don't control. There is no formal Service Level Agreement at current tiers. We'll publish outages and maintenance windows on our status page once we launch one.

Intellectual property

  • We own the Platform. The code, the prompt sets, the scoring engine, the generated schema/FAQ templates, the UI.
  • You own your data. Your URLs, your scan inputs, the account info you provide. You grant us a license to process them only for the purpose of running your scans.
  • Reports we generate for you are yours to use — share them, publish them, send them to your marketing team. Don't pass them off as your own commercial product.

Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee specific outcomes — e.g. we can't promise that implementing our recommendations will lift your AI visibility by a specific percentage. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes to these Terms, we'll notify active users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Minor edits (typo fixes, clarifications) may happen without notice; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
