Connect AEO Action to your AI app

Last updated: October 21, 2026

AI apps move their menus often. If a step below has moved, look for Connectors, Apps or MCP in the app's settings.

AEO Action has an MCP connector. Connect it once, then ask your own AI assistant things like “What did ChatGPT say about my business today?”, “Which competitors keep getting named instead of me?” or “What work is waiting for my approval?” — it answers from your AEO Action account. It works on every plan, and for an agency it covers every client.

The connector address

https://www.aeoaction.com/api/mcp

When you add it, your AI app opens an AEO Action page where you sign in and press Allow. No API key to copy, nothing to install.

Claude

  1. Open Settings → Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it AEO Action and paste the address above.
  4. Press Add, then Connect, sign in to AEO Action and press Allow.

On Claude Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds the connector once under Admin settings → Connectors; members then press Connect.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http aeo-action https://www.aeoaction.com/api/mcp, then run /mcp to sign in.

ChatGPT

Custom connectors live under Settings → Apps & Connectors, with developer mode turned on (Advanced settings). Create a connector, paste the address above and choose OAuth; ChatGPT then opens the AEO Action sign-in. Which ChatGPT plans allow custom connectors is OpenAI's decision and has changed several times; your Settings page shows whether yours does.

Cursor, VS Code and other MCP apps

Add a remote (HTTP) MCP server with the address above. The app handles the sign-in.

What it can read

  • List my businesses. List the businesses (projects) in this AEO Action account — one for Solo and Solo Pro, every client for an agency — with their ids, domains and when they were last scanned.
  • Get my AI visibility. The business's AI visibility from its latest daily scan: how often AI answers name it (mention rate), how often they cite its site (citation rate), its competitive edge, and how each moved against the baseline, with AEO Action's noise verdict (a real move or within noise).
  • Read what AI engines answered. The latest scan's AI answers about the business, word for word: the buyer question, the engine (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot), whether the business was named, which competitors were named and which sources were cited. Filter by engine or by named / not named.
  • See which competitors AI names. Which competitors the AI answers in the latest scan named, and how many answers named each, next to how many named the business itself.
  • List work waiting for approval. The finished work AEO Action prepared for the business and is waiting for the owner's approval (schema, FAQ pages, landing pages, Reddit packs), plus what was recently approved or published. Approving happens in AEO Action.
  • Get my weekly report. The business's latest weekly work report: what was done, what changed, and what comes next.
  • Get my AI traffic. Visits to the business's site that came from AI assistants (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot) over the last 30 days, measured by the AEO Pixel, with the top landing pages.

It is read-only: it cannot approve, publish, change or delete anything. Approving work stays one click inside AEO Action. It reads only the account you signed in with.

Disconnecting

In AEO Action, open Settings → AI apps and press Disconnect, or remove the connector in your AI app. Either way the app's access ends at once.

Privacy

What the connector returns goes to the AI app you connected, under that app's own terms and privacy policy. We store only what the connection needs: which app you connected, when, and hashed access tokens. Our Privacy Policy covers the rest. Questions: support@aeoaction.com.
